Michael Kling

Michael Kling is Chief Technology Officer at Foundation Medicine. He has over 20 years of technology leadership experience in the healthcare and biotech spaces.

In his role at Foundation Medicine, Kling leads the technology function and is responsible for helping Foundation Medicine transform cancer care by creating innovative digital products, scaling and streamlining technology platforms for business operations and generating insights through data solutions. 

Before joining Foundation Medicine in 2019, Kling held multiple leadership roles at United Health Group, where he built development organizations and led delivery for several high-profile, large-scale, data-intensive technology platforms. Prior to United Health Group, Kling worked at Eliza, a company focused on artificial intelligence for automated member communications in the healthcare space, where he held multiple leadership roles in which he drove technical strategy and platform delivery and helped the company through multiple stages of growth and acquisition.

Kling has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Binghamton University.
