Jennifer M. Romans is Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs at Foundation Medicine. Ms. Romans leads Foundation Medicine’s Corporate Affairs function, overseeing Government Affairs, Public Policy, Patient and Professional Partnerships, and External Communications. She previously served as the company’s Vice President, Government Affairs since February 2020.
Before joining Foundation Medicine, Romans represented Eli Lilly & Company, serving as the principal government affairs liaison for Lilly Oncology. Previously, Romans served as Vice President, Federal Affairs for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, where she was responsible for leading advocacy campaigns that included communications, alliance development, public policy, and government affairs.
Prior to her private sector experience, Romans served as health policy advisor to the United States Senate Majority Leader and the United States Senate Whip. She worked extensively on Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance reforms, including landmark laws such as the Medicare Modernization Act and the Affordable Care Act. Romans also led efforts to improve the Nation’s emergency preparedness and response, creating the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority.
Romans received her B.A. in Political Science and English from Vanderbilt University.
