Vera Grossmann

Vera Grossmann is Chief Operations Officer at Foundation Medicine. She brings deep scientific expertise in molecular biology and managing large scale operations.

In her current role, Grossmann is responsible for Foundation Medicine’s global operations as well as the quality assurance and regulatory functions. Since joining Foundation Medicine in 2017, Grossmann has played a key role in establishing and driving sustainable growth at the company’s site in Penzberg, Germany. Over the past seven years, under her leadership the site has grown in capacity, lab space and personnel. Her strong focus on people and culture has led Foundation Medicine Penzberg to be recognized as a top place to work in Germany for the past three consecutive years. In addition, she has also established and fostered key collaborations with Roche and Foundation Medicine international partners in Europe and Asia.

Prior to joining Foundation Medicine, she held prominent leadership roles at Bioscientia in Germany, where she was head of the leukemia division, as well as at the University Medical Center Mainz in Germany where she was head of the biomolecular and genetic laboratory. 

Grossmann earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University in Innsbruck, Austria and her Executive MBA in Health Care Management from Munich Business School in Germany.
